The Natural way
I have the pleasure of having in my life a very special mare. Her name is Shadia. She came into my life 5 years ago. She was a 3 year old at the time and had spent all of her days out grazing with other youngsters!
I trained Shadia to want to work with me and become my riding partner. I dont believe in the term "breaking" as i do not and never will ever want to break the horses spirit as this is the essence that i love about horses.
It took longer than the "normal" time but we now have a fantastic relationship based on trust and love, not fear and force.
We have competed together in Show Jumping, Dressage, One day events and Hunter trials.
Just as the saying goes, "Give a horse what he needs and he will give you his heart in return"
This couldn't be more true!
Massage therapy
I became interested in Massage Therapy after i had seen and felt the results of having Shadia treated. I believe it is very important to maintain the horses muscular tone and flexibility through therapies, especially when the are out competing and working. Through all the years of working with horses, i always loved taking care of them. When i saw the results of Equine Massage Therapy it put me on the journey of becoming a therapist myself.
